Description
This one day session helps new or re-shaped teams accelerate cohesion using the U.S. Army’s Team Building Model (ATB), a proven method built around Formation, Enrichment, and Sustainment. Instead of waiting weeks for relationships, roles, and rhythms to settle, the session brings these elements to the surface early so the team can stabilise and perform at speed.
We start with Formation, where the focus is on building trust, establishing psychological safety, and creating clarity. Teams explore how early behaviours shape their collective culture and how expectations, communication preferences, and working norms can be set collaboratively to reduce uncertainty.
We then shift to Enrichment, diving into team dynamics, strengths, and friction points. Through guided exercises, the team surfaces hidden assumptions, clarifies roles and responsibilities, and develops shared mental models around priorities and decision-making. This section strengthens relational bonds and helps the team understand how to support each other during pressure points.
Finally, in Sustainment, the team creates a set of simple, repeatable habits that keep alignment strong over time — including feedback rhythms, cross-team communication loops, and ways to maintain momentum as challenges emerge. The session ends with a clear, behavioural action plan the team can use over the next 30–90 days to embed the new ways of working.

Create shared mental models around goals, roles, responsibilities, and decision-making.
Surface hidden assumptions and address potential friction points proactively.
Strengthen cohesion through structured dialogue and values-aligned commitments.
Sustainment
